| Rattlers repay Jags Sharyland faces Juárez-Lincoln in key 30-5A match |

MISSION, 4 March. - Sharyland defeated Edinburg Economedes 4-0 Friday and paid the Jaguars back for an early season District 30-5A loss at Edinburg on Jan. 29.
The Rattlers improved to 8-2 with 24 points and kept pace with district leader La Joya Juárez-Lincoln, who scored a 5-1 win over Edinburg North (2-9, 6 points) on Friday.
Earlier in the season, Sharyland played to a scoreless tie against Economedes in regulation before succumbing to the Jags in penalty kicks 5-3.
This time around, the Rattlers turned the tables on Economedes and had better aim than last time to give the Jags their fourth loss of the season. Economedes dropped to 7-4 with 20 points after the loss.
Luis Gómez opened up the scoring for Sharyland in the first half and Eric Izaguirre, Santiago Vélez, and Daniel García added tallies to lead the Rattlers over the Jags 4-0.
Victories by Sharyland and Juárez-Lincoln set the table for an all-out battle on Friday, March 8 at 6 p.m. at La Joya between the Rattlers and Huskies in a pivotal match that could possibly decide the district title down the line.
In the girls match, Sharyland cruised to an 8-0 rout of the Lady Jaguars to remain undefeated in district play and improved to 10-0 with 30 points. With the resounding loss, Economedes dropped to 6-5 with 20 points. The Lady Jags have lost four of their last five matches.
Maegan Idrogo, Nallely Garza and Kassy De la Garza each scored a pair of goals for the Lady Rattlers, while Nikki González and Mikaela Garvin tallied a goal each to round out the scoring for Sharyland.
