DONNA, 29 Feb. - The Redskins managed to do what few teams have done this season, and something only they have done in District 30-5A: defeat Sharyland, twice.

Donna downed the Rattlers 3-2 in front of a home crowd to sweep the district season series two games to none, and became the only team to beat three-time defending 30-5A champion Sharyland in district play. The Redskins edged the Rattlers 1-0 on Feb. 3.

Carlos Camargo, Ricky Vargas, and Juan Cruz scored the game-winning goals for Donna. Daniel García and Joey Martínez tallied the two scores for Sharyland.

The outcome gave RGVFútbol.com No. 6-ranked Donna and No. 2 Sharyland identical 7-2 district records with 21 points each. Although both teams are tied in points, the Redskins’ two victories and goal differential give them the edge over the Rattlers.

The victory was Donna’s fourth in a row, and against the district’s top contenders. The Redskins also dispatched Mission and La Joya in the last four games.
